NMSS 2026 Application Form

The ANU-AAMT National Mathematics Summer School (NMSS) is the oldest and most prestigious program of its type in Australia.
It has been academically sponsored by the Australian National University (ANU) and the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) since being founded by Professor Larry Blakers AM in 1969.
The NMSS aims to discover and develop the mathematical talent of high-achieving school students from all over the country.
NMSS 2026 is set to take place from 4 to 17 January at the Australian National University in Canberra.
Participation is normally limited to approximately 75 students who have completed their Year 11 studies.
If you wish to apply for the NMSS, please fill out all form entries below and submit your application by the end of Friday 29 August 2025.

Please note that the application process also requires your teacher to complete a Teacher Nomination Form.
You should make sure you complete this form in a timely manner so that your teacher has sufficient time to respond to the Teacher Nomination Form email.

Financial assistance

The requested financial contribution per student covers less than the operating costs for the school, which is possible due to various benefactors and sponsors.
We hope that the cost is not prohibitively expensive, but if it is, we encourage students to seek financial support from their school or other organisations.
The Leon Poladian Scholarships are available to students who are selected but unable to attend the NMSS without further assistance.
To apply for such a scholarship, please email the NMSS Director at director@nmss.edu.au with a few sentences presenting your case, and tick the box below.
I would like to be considered for the Leon Poladian Scholarship and have emailed the NMSS Director.

Click the button below to submit your application.

You will receive an email listing your submitted responses, and your teacher will receive an email asking them to complete the Teacher Nomination Form.

Be sure to check that both email addresses have been entered correctly.
